The Bishop's Restart Initiative
What is this Bishop's Restart Initiative?
The Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas works with the congregational development team to identify churches that are going through significant transitions. Because of selling two church properties and the building a new space for worship, on new property, we have been identified as a qualifying church!
What does this mean?
We get to do a lot of work on ourselves as a community by evaluating who God has called us to be, which was accomplished through the 50 Days of Discernment during Easter. We will then identify 2 or 3 ministry areas that we will focus on for a period of 5 years. After these ministry areas are chosen, we will pray about and create measurable goals that can be accomplished in this time. In exchange for this intentional work, the Diocese of West Texas will offer guidance, support, and some funding to support movement toward these goals.
What do I do?
1. Pray for our church.
2. Choose the top two ministry areas to which you feel God is calling our community.
3. Be a willing volunteer to help our community live into the goals.
